Finding the Gaps: How Thermal Imaging Helps Detect Missing Insulation

One of the most common energy-efficiency issues we find during home inspections is missing insulation over livable spaces. These gaps may be hidden behind drywall or above ceilings, but they can have a big impact—causing higher energy bills, uneven temperatures, and drafty rooms.

That’s where thermal imaging makes a difference. With an infrared camera, we can “see” temperature variations in walls and ceilings that aren’t visible to the naked eye. Cooler spots often reveal areas where insulation is missing or insufficient.

By identifying these problem areas, we help homeowners take action before energy loss and comfort issues add up. It’s one more way we go beyond the surface to give you the full picture of your home’s condition.
